diversity training, total quality management and sound fiscal practices of businesses and non-profit organizations. Additionally, Ms. Bennett is the Harrisburg manager for the Speakers Access International Speaker’s Bureau. (The only ISB Certified speaker’s bureau in Pennsylvania)
Ms Bennett’s professional journey spans numerous senior management positions with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She has served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary, PA Department of Public Welfare Office of Income Maintenance, The office is responsible for overall administration of County Assistance Offices throughout Pennsylvania, Ms Bennett was also responsible for policy development, and efficacy of Charitable Choice legislation designed to reduce dependency on government aid. Her experience also encompasses the position of Chief Administrative Law Judge, and, Director Office of Hearing and Appeals.
Ms Bennett’s passion is demonstrated in her civic and community commitment. She has addressed the United Nations on three different occasions on the role of the Non-Government Organization (NGO’s) and the Eradication of Poverty in third world countries as well as the Women’s Federation for World Peace. Ms Bennett has served as the National spokeswoman for the Empowerment Network. She has been a national panelist for the Hudson Institute, the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Conference, and The United States Health and Human Services. In addition, she has been a plenary and keynote speaker for the Washington Times Foundation; the National Conference on Minority and Public Administrators and the American Society of Public Administrators and The Empowerment Network.
She is distinguished by many awards and acknowledgements; Woman of the Year, Alleghenians; Distinguished Woman of Color in the Judiciary, American Bar Association; the Pennsylvania National Guard’s Outstanding Woman of the Year. Ms Bennett is the author of “Social Services Delivery System to the Elderly.”
Ms. Bennett is a former member of the National Public Relations Directors, appointed as National Public Relations Director for the National Convention of Gospel Choirs, Past President, Conference of Minority Public Administrators and the National Association of Hearing Officials.
Ms Bennett is currently a member of the 21st Century Speakers Bureau, The National Gospel Announcers Guild, Past President of the Harrisburg Kiwanis Club, member Fair Housing Board, Rejoice Adoption and Foster Care Agency, the Harrisburg Symphony Society, Business Women International (BWI), National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), Pennsylvania Federation of Women, Pennsylvania Women’s Forum, Association of Black Charities, NAACP, African American Chamber of Commerce. Modern Transportation Project (MTP) She also serves as the Committee Woman for the 7th Ward, Swatara Township.
Ms Bennett a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been a resident of the Harrisburg community for over twenty years. She holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Bennett also served as part time faculty at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. Ms Bennett is an active member of the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Harrisburg. In her leisure time she plays the piano and is an avid reader. She has a son, Charles, and three grandchildren.
